It's time to take a deep breath Mum.....
Dec 01, 2023If someone told me 10 years ago that breathing will help me survive the toddler stage, I think I would have handled it a whole lot better than I did.
I remember feeling the rage inside my head because I couldn't do anything I wanted to, there was no time for me at all, I was endlessly looking at my to do lists without ever really completing anything to its full potential. I would finish a task and turn around and there would be another one.
I knew when I started yelling at my kids, my head would heat up and I would be at the point of rage and about to yell at the kids for well being kids, then I knew I needed to do something about it.
I found breathework and yes that may seem a little whoohooaaaaa to you but by golly it works.
The benefits of mindful breathing for Mums (and Dads/carers) during the busy festive season are numerous and I am here to share some key advantages of adding breathework to your day:
- Stress Reduction:
- Mindful breathing helps activate the relaxation response, reducing stress hormones. Mums can use simple breathing exercises to manage the inevitable stresses that come with the festive season, promoting a calmer mindset.
- Increased Energy Levels:
- Deep, intentional breaths enhance oxygen flow to the body, providing an energy boost. Combatting fatigue and maintain vitality during the demanding holiday season.
- Improved Focus and Clarity:
- Mindful breathing fosters mental clarity. Think focus amidst the chaos, making it easier to prioritise tasks, manage schedules, and engage with family and friends more attentively.
- Enhanced Emotional Well-being:
- Deep breathing encourages the release of endorphins, the body's natural mood enhancers. This can help Mums navigate the emotional highs and lows of the festive season, promoting a more positive outlook.
- Better Sleep Quality:
- Relaxation through mindful breathing aids in promoting better sleep. Combatting the potential sleep disruptions caused by holiday stress and late-night preparations, ensuring they wake up refreshed.
I hope you'll add some breathe work into your day today.
